Is wheel throwing hard to learn?
Centering clay on the wheel takes practice, but most beginners start producing small pieces by their second or third session. Patience and consistency are key.
What kind of wheels do you have?
We have 20 Shimpo electric pottery wheels. Shimpo wheels are known for smooth, quiet operation and excellent torque for beginners and advanced potters.
How long does it take to learn wheel throwing?
Most students can throw basic bowls and cylinders within 4-6 weeks of weekly practice. Mastery is a lifelong journey, but competence comes faster than you might think.
Can I use the wheel during open studio?
Yes. Studio members have access to all 20 wheels during open studio hours on a first-come, first-served basis.
